A short visit with a little guy

My sister, Penny  just had a little boy a few weeks ago and my brother, Matt and I wanted to go and see her.  We were taking a chance when we went that the baby would not be here.  When we planned the trip, Penny was still awaiting his appearance.  But, as luck would have it, the day before we left, he was born.  So, Matt, the two boys and I packed up the Mountaineer and headed up north.  We left on a Thursday and came home on Saturday.  My boys travel pretty good.  Especially only having one rest day in between two 9 hour driving days.  They entertained themselves quite well for most of the trip.  Matthew fell asleep about one hour before we got there.  And now Matt has some great road trip experiences.
The baby was sooooo cute.  In fact, when I held him, it brought back all of the memories of when my two were just wee, little ones.  And it made me just a little baby hungry.  (Just a little.)  That new baby smell is so intoxicating and he makes all those cute little mewing sounds.  He hardly cried the entire time we were there.  He was just too darn cute and I fell in love with him almost instantly.  Thanks, Penny, for letting us come and invade your space so soon after you gave birth.  Thanks, Pam, for being up there to take care of Penny so that I could just hold Connor.  Thanks,Matt, for driving the entire way.  I would have shared, but it was much more enjoyable to just be there for the ride.

The boys having lunch…Benjamin and Matt having Subway sandwiches, Matthew having Ice cream…cause that’s how we roll.

Connor was absolutely adorable.  He weighed hardly nothing at all and was as cute as could be.  Penny is doing really well as a first-time mom.

These are from the trip home.  The first picture is from the territorial penitentiary in Deer Lodge, MT.  Matt wanted to stop at an Antique Store, and it happened to be just across the street from it.  That building was amazing.  I think I might want to take a tour the next time I go through.  And the last two pictures are the boys being boys.  They found some stickers and were being very quiet.  Now, if only that would work all the time!

Too cute! I'm jealous that you got to go up there, and cuddle our sweet nephew and soak in that his new baby smell!

So adorable. Loved the pictures! He is so stinkin adorable! I want to squeeze him! Did you squeeze him? And kiss his toes? Cause I would have. That's how I roll!

THat's so funny! I stopped in Deer Lodge on the way up and on the way back. That penitentiary is kind of intimidating on main street, isn't it?

Great job getting this posted so quickly. I saw you had it up, and had to post something myself. :)

I had a great time seeing you guys! YOur family is so cute :)

Love,
Pam
