Well, everything went well with the cake and the party. Chad's family was able to come by, and we had a thoroughly enjoyable time. We barbecued hamburgers and hotdogs on our new gas grill, and then I had made a pasta salad (that only DeAnn and I ate!!!), but I also made a veggie tray and a fruit tray. It was easy and the clean up was especially easy because we used paper and plastic. So that made it nice. Matthew did not blow out his candle, Benjamin did. But he loved the cupcake, and especially the frosting. Here's some pictures of the party.
So then I cleaned him up and he opened up presents. Of course, he had no clue as to how to open them, but Benjamin helped out a lot. Good thing big brother was around.
I just can't believe he is already one. That time did fly fast. What good times we have had for his first year.

OK, That's really funny. Usually, when I go to your blog, I just click on the post and it only shows one post at a time. Today, I actually looked at your blog, and realized that I hadn't ever seen the pictures from Matthew's birthday. I guess I had assumed I had already seen that post, b/c it looked just like your previous post. So cute! You know what? Preston got that same milk jug/bowling thing for his birthday! That ball is so hilarious! And it looks like Matthew enjoyed the crocodile cupcakes. So much fun!
Love you!
Pam
Everything was fun about that day. I'm just glad that they only have one birthday a year, because I can only use my creative powers so much and then they are all used up!
