I can't believe that August is almost over. It felt like it just began, and as you can tell, I really haven't had much time to sit in front of a computer. This month has just been crazy!!! So, to catch up, I'll fill you all in.
Nathan spent two weeks with us here, and it was a blessing for Matthew. He has someone to stand up for him whenever Benjamin would get a little rough. Not that Ben is bad, but he is just exerting his power and place in our family and sometimes Matthew gets in the way. So, Nathan was really good to pick up Matthew and hold him and help him get over whatever Benjamin did to him. So, for that, I am truly grateful that he stayed with us. We did have fun bike riding and walking and going to the movies and just hanging out.
I've spent the last week trying to potty train Benjamin. He starts preschool tomorrow and not that it is a requirement that he be potty trained, I just thought it would be nice for the teacher. We have the peeing down, sort of. Definitely still have to work on Number 2. But, if something is not hard then it is not worth it, right? I think Matthew will be a lot easier to train only because he likes to sit in Benjamin's potty seat and make the music go. Way too cute. We'll see what happens.
I've also canned some green beans and some apricot/pineapple jam. And I dried some more apricots and pineapple (don't know what I'm going to do with the pineapple, but I used the juice to help prepare the apricots for drying, so I just thought, might as well dry those also). Oh it is fun to experiment with food. Now if only my family will eat it...
Not much else is going on. I'll leave you with some cute pictures of the boys.
Benjamin found his snow boots and coat in the closet and just had to put them on, even though it was like 90 degrees outside. Oh well!!!
Matthew eating jello, by himself.

They are getting so big! Isn't it time to come out and visit "ann-ree"? I think so! :)
and yes, i think losing touch is genetic, but I plan to not let it stay that way!
i don't know why, but it always surprises me how big matthew is! yes, i know he is just a little bit younger than preston. so, you need to post more pictures of him, that way it will all sink in...or you should come visit! :)
your boys are just way too cute. congrats on the potty training. it IS hard work, but, if he keeps up with it, each day will get easier and easier. ( i can say this because it has been 3 weeks now with Parker.)
I'M SURELY GLAD THAT YOU HAVE THIS BLOG WITH THE BOYS PICTURES ON IT. THEY ARE GROWING SO QUICKLY. hOPE THAT THEY WILL REMEMBER ME, WHEN i GET BACK.
